SEA Studio's work has been recognized with a Cottage and Town Award for the design and restoration of our 38 Oak project in Rehoboth Beach Delaware.
38 Oak is a sustainably renovated and restored beach cottage two blocks from the ocean. Our clients wanted to preserve the character and scale of the original house while maintaining the openness and green space of the property. Passive house detailing and roof mounted PV systems reduce and offset the home's energy consumption.
The Cape Gazette noted that "the awards recognize residential and commercial property owners who contribute to the charm, beauty and history of downtown Rehoboth through architectural and landscape architectural renovation, restoration and preservation."
Jonathon Selway, AIA and Scott Edmonston, AIA of SEA studio were the lead architects on the project and were on hand to accept the award on behalf of our clients and Beachwood Inc, the contractors who expertly executed the restoration.
